Whitehall Landing, Whitby In Partnership With Harrison Construction

Whitehall Landing is a 34 berth marina with a particular problem. As the tide falls bedrock is exposed which can damage both boat hulls and pontoons. The challenge was to design a system which would allow the pontoons to sit above the river bed rather than on it at low tide. It should support the boats in an upright position and avoid expensive damage. Our innovative design team suggested a system where the pontoons were built on stilts. The result has worked perfectly.

Victor Simmonds, Managing Director of SOLENT MARINE said " We believe that the system we designed for Whitby can be utilised in a number of situations and we have already had a number of customers expressing interest in seeing this system first hand for themselves".
